Deutsche Bank Award

Deutsche Bank Award

Jazz trombonist, pianist and composer Thomas Green has jumped straight into a new creative project after graduating with a Master of Arts postgraduate degree from the Academy last month.

Thomas has been awarded a Deutsche Bank Award for Creative Enterprises for ScoreSync, which will provide ways to navigate and simultaneously experience different types of musical media. The software tool will synchronise a musical manuscript file and an audio file, and display them simultaneously. A listener will be able to locate and follow the position in a musical score of an audio performance as it plays.

The Deutsche Bank Awards are presented to graduates from Britain‘s top arts colleges and offer start-up capital, training and mentoring to graduating art students. Over 150 creative students developed and submitted detailed business plans, judged by panels of expert artists and Deutsche Bank employees. The Awards are offered in a range of disciplines from Architecture, to Design, Performance and Fine Art. Over 21 years the programme has provided business training to thousands of creative students, helping them to prepare for life after University and encouraging the application of creative minds to innovative entrepreneurial solutions.
