NASA internships for Polish students
Polish graduate students and undergraduates are invited to participate in the competition for internships in the U.S. space agency NASA. During the summer, winners will work at the Lunar and Planetary Institute in Houston, Texas, according to NASA website.
In a competition organized under the lunar exploration program NASA will
select the best candidates and will form two teams. The teams will work
with researchers from the U.S. space agency the best landing sites for
future lunar missions.
This program is open to graduate students
and undergraduates with a bachelor's degree. Preferred fields of study
include geology, planetary science, and related programs (e.g.,
astronomy, chemistry, physics). Younger students with at least 50
semester hours of credit can also apply, but students of the later years
of study will have preference.
10-week internship will take
place from 31 May to 5 August 2011. Selected students will receive a
$5,000 stipend to cover the costs associated with being in Houston for
the duration of the program. In addition, foreign students will receive
up to $1,500 in travel expense reimbursement.
Applications may be
submitted on the Lunar and Planetary Institute website until 21 January
2011. The selection criteria will be: the current education, resume,
experience, future career goals and research interests.
