East London Design Show

East London Design Show

East London Design Show (ELDS) was set up in 1994 by glassmaker Della Tinsley and photographer Gideon Cleary. The show is now an annual event that traditionally takes place over the first weekend of December and includes a special VIP preview.

Taking place in the area with the richest concentration of artists and designers in the UK, emerging and established designers apply to take part and are handpicked for the quality of their products. The show profiles the very best of Britains product, interior and fashion designers - with many exhibitors using the event to launch new work , ELDS has become the place to spot design stars of the future.

In the heart of the East End, the glorious venue for the show, Shoreditch Town Hall, has recently had a 5 million pound restoration and is known for hosting film shoots and art, design and theatre events. Hoxton has become a destination for design, including boutiques and furniture shops. Other local places of interest include Columbia Road Flower market, Spitalfields, Brick Lane, the Gefferye Museum and Whitechapel art gallery.
