Originating in New York City in 2000, the
Bicycle Film Festival (BFF)
has become a firm fixture in the London calendar and returns for its
thirteenth season in 2013. The festival celebrates bicycle culture
across 45 cities around the world, bringing together creative
communities from the fields of fashion, music, art and design, plus
various cycling communities. As well as a programme of short films and
documentaries, screened at the
Barbican Centre,
the festival celebrates the bicycle through a series of quirky events
including Roller Racing, the annual Bike Polo tournament, BMX jams, bike
rides and interactive activities. With back-to-back British wins in the
Tour de France, plus last summer's Olympic excitement from the
Velodrome still fresh in the mind, visitors to the 2013 Bicycle Film
Festival could well reach record numbers.
